Albert Lee Miller
ALBERT LEE MILLER, JR., 94, of the Kimberling Community of Bland, VA, went home to be with the Lord he faithfully served on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born December 3, 1931 in Rocky Gap, VA, the son of the late Albert, Sr. & Edna Miller.
Albert was a hard worker with an endless work ethic. He retired from Klopman Mills. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served in California.
He attended church at Holly Brook Church of Christ. He was a member of the Bland Lodge #206.
Albert didn’t meet a stranger. He had a heart for people and would often visit friends and neighbors and visit the local nursing homes. He would talk to anyone and enjoyed finding out about their backgrounds. He befriended many of the AT hikers and enjoyed their correspondence after they completed their hikes.
In his later years, he enjoyed being part of the Trent’s Breakfast Club and made many lasting friendships with the patrons. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee, Sr. & Edna Ruth DeHart Miller, his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Pruett Miller and his brother, Douglas Miller.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons & daughters-in-law, Jerry & Martha Miller and Jimmy & Sherry Miller; his daughters & sons-in-law, Brenda & Bobby Penley and Teresa & Ralph Pritts; his beloved grandchildren, Bridgette & David Midkiff, Rebekah & Bo Thomas, Jim Bob Penley & Mindy Roland, Jerrod & Daniella Miller, Justin & Britny Miller, Trenton & Kathryn Miller, Kendra Pritts & Zack Hatfield and Ryan & Anna Pritts; his beloved great-grandchildren, Laura & James Meredith, Rachel & Luke Smith, Robbie Penley, Josie Roland, Clayton Roland, Calub Roland, Sam Thomas, Ryleigh Miller, Rowan Miller, Reese Miller, Shawn Pritts, Jeremiah Pritts, Hadley Miller, Jamie Beth Miller and one on the way; his brother & sisters-in-law, Darnell & Suzie Miller and Lois Davis; his nephew Robert Davis; and several cousins and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Jim Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery with military rites provided by the Bland American Legion Post #20. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 1:00 P.M.
