Alfred Lewis Grubbs, Jr., 76, of Appomattox, died, Saturday, December 31, 2022.  He was the husband of Agnes Murray Grubbs.

Born in Concord, March 26, 1946, he was a son of the late Della Doss Grubbs and Alfred Lewis Grubbs, Sr.  He served his country in the United States Army. Alfred was a retired truck driver with 30 years of service.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Roxanne Grubbs of Lynchburg and Tracy Gula and husband, Thomas of Chesapeake; one stepdaughter, Patricia Wood of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Brittany Gula and Hannah Gula; two step-grandchildren, Gabrielle Coflin and Austin Coy; a special family friend and her family, Sherry Davis, husband, Mark and son Jacob of Amherst; one brother, Gary Carroll Grubbs and wife, B.J. of Concord; one sister, Della G. Williams of Gretna; sister-in-law, Esther Grubbs of Concord; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Jamerson Grubbs; his son, Kevin Wayne Grubbs; and one brother, Larry Arnold Grubbs.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Worley officiating.  Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m., in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post # 104 and VFW # 9855 combined honor guard.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home.
