Alice Sigmon Hall

April 9, 1934 - April 27, 2026

Alice Sigmon Hall's earthly journey began 92 years ago, on April 9, 1934. when she was welcomed by her parents Dan and Vera Sigmon (both deceased) and sister Peggy S. Love (Floyd - both deceased). As the years passed four more siblings were added to this special family - brothers Jerry Sigmon (Patty), Richard Sigmon (deceased) and sisters Betty Hudson and Sue Housman (Jimmy - deceased). Cherished additions are many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Alice started school in a two-room school (Lanahan School) and recently told us the names of the two teachers who worked there. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1952. After graduation she worked for a short time in various office positions before joining Edwin Greer and his staff at the Franklin County Circuit Court Office. Upon Mr. Greer's retirement as Clerk, she worked with his successor William Walker until his retirement. At that time, Alice decided to campaign for the position of Clerk of Franklin County Circuit Court and was successful in being elected on two different occasions. She retired from her position as Clerk after 55 years of service to the citizens of Franklin County. During this time, she met and married Van Buren Hall, Jr. (deceased). They loved and were so proud of their family which included a son Steven Hall (deceased 5/12/2025), sweet daughter-in-law Lesley Hall and they welcomed with much love a granddaughter Kelsey Hodges (Travis) and grandson Colby Hall. The icing on the cake was the addition of two wonderful great grandsons Hudson and Weston Hodges. A family so loved! When Alice married V.B., she was welcomed into a very special family - the Hall Family. They have continued to be a special part of her life. Alice was a member of Redwood United Methodist Church and attended regularly until her health began to decline. A special thank you to the staff at Fork Mountain Rest Home for all the love and care they provided her over the last two years; and to each of you who stayed in contact with Alice through phone calls, cards, visits and prayers. Alice's Heavenly story began on Monday, April 27, 2026 when she entered the gates of Heaven. Well done, good and faithful servant. (Mathew 25:21)A celebration of Her Life will be conducted 1:30 PM Monday, May 4, 2026 at the graveside, in the Redwood United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Buckles officiating.
