Alla Phillips

Alla Phillips, 60, of Collinsville, VA passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 17, 1963, in Kislovodsk, Russia to the late Andrey Dremlyuga and Claudia Tichonovich Dremlyuga.

She was known for her adventurous spirit and made the most out of every moment. She loved to travel, try new things, and explore nature with her dog, Sunny. Alla dedicated her entire career to education. She was a teacher at Laurel Park Middle School and taught Russian classes in the evenings. Prior to moving to the United States with her son in 2012, she worked as a school teacher and principal in Kislovodsk, Russia.

Alla is survived by her son, Andrey Sazonov (Stephanie Schipull), her sister, Natalia Milokhina, her niece Anna Vasilyeva, and two great nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville, VA with Pastor David Deisher officiating. Alla had a bright and colorful personality, so if attending we encourage you to wear something that brings you joy.
