Allan Ray Walls

August 26, 1947 - February 17, 2025

Allan Ray Walls, 77, of Rustburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025.

Born on August 26, 1947, in Adona, AR, Allan was the son of the late Harlon D. Walls and Mary M. Walls. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Ingrahm.

A proud veteran, Allan served in the U.S. Coast Guard before building a long career in structural steel work, construction, and bridge design. He worked for Bohling Steel after decades as a skilled structural design draftsman, contributing to projects that left a lasting mark on the industry. His meticulous attention to detail and expertise earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. Allan was known for his unique and meticulous approach to everything he did.

Allan had a deep love for classic cars, especially pickup trucks, and was an expert marksman who enjoyed building and collecting firearms. A true patriot and strong conservative, Allan was deeply committed to his values and beliefs, standing firm in his dedication to preserving the principles he held dear. His love for cooking and caring for his cats brought him great joy. Above all, nothing meant more to him than his beloved wife, Patti, whom he adored deeply.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patti Craig; his son, Todd Walls (Carrie); his granddaughter, Morgan Walls; his cousin, Teri Toal (David); his aunt, Rita Toal; and numerous cousins and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5731 Airport Rd. NW, Roanoke, VA 24012, with Pastor Marvin Buise officiating.
