Alma Draper Haynes

Alma Draper Haynes, 89, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was born on June 4, 1935, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Tommie Draper and Lillian Hairfield Draper. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Morton Haynes; one daughter, Catherine Haynes; two sons, Thomas Dudley Haynes and Rodney Haynes; and one brother, Thomas Draper.

Alma worked at Stanley Home Products for over 50 years. She was a member of, and faithfully attended, Calvary Christian Church. Outside of serving her church in many capacities, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, cooking for her family, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Alma is survived by one daughter, Deborah Marie Haynes; four grandchildren, Tommy Haynes (Cathy), Joe Haynes (April), Jordan Alley (Tray), and Helen Martin (Wayne); five great-grandchildren; one brother, John Daniel “JD” Draper (Jane); sister-in-law, Ann Draper; two daughters-in-law, Gloria Haynes and Vanessa Haynes.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with Minister Mike Crowe officiating. The family will accept friends one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
