Alta L. Nylund

Alta L. Nylund 98, passed away March 8, 2023. Alta was born July 16, 1924 to Emma and Raymond Conner in Hibbing, Minnesota. She graduated from Hibbing High school in 1942. Alta was married to Elmer O. Nylund for 69 years who preceded her death. Alta first went to work in 1944 in the personnel department of Hanford Atomic Works in Washington state.   The family left Washington in 1945 but returned again in 1948 to North Richland Washington to stay at the world’s largest trailer city at the time.  Alta and Elmer in 1955 purchased a plot of land then known as the Brotherhood in West Richland and moved their Trailer and family to the spot.  They built their home on the land as it stands today.  Alta is survived by a son, James Nylund (Cheryl) of Moneta, VA; two grandsons, Blake Nylund (Kelly) of Lynchburg VA, Joel Nylund (Melanie) of Leesburg VA; and six-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Lake Christian Ministries of Moneta, VA.  A grave side memorial service will be held at a later date.
