Alvin "Al" Freeman
Alvin Freeman, age 89, originally of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away in South Carolina on Saturday, September 5. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and for the legacy of love, family, and cherished memories he leaves behind.
Alvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaJuana. Their life together was reflected in the family they raised and in the enduring bonds shared by those who knew and loved them.
Alvin enjoyed golfing and had a special appreciation for restoring old cars. These interests reflected his patience, dedication, and care for craftsmanship, qualities that those close to him will fondly remember.
Alvin is survived by his four children, Karen Klasing and her husband, Paul; Waurayne Cooper and her husband, Gary; Cathy Hull and her husband, Jeff; and Ryan Freeman and his wife, Mary Margaret. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeffrey Hull and wife, Jessica; Jason Hull and wife, Autum; Justin Hull and wife, Lisa; James Johnson and wife, Mariem; Blake Johnson and wife, Meagan; Hayley Huffman and husband, Billy; and Paige McKeown and husband, Chris; as well as his great-grandchildren, Teagan, Kaylee, Ellie, Lyla, Alara, Natalie, Taylor, Hadley, Killian and Pennelope.
Services will be held Monday, September 14, 2026 at 2 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. Interment will follow services at St. Andrews Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home (540)366-0707.
Alvin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those whose lives he touched.
