Alvin Eldridge Nolen

September 30, 1937 - January 15, 2019

Alvin Eldridge Nolen, 81, of Pearisburg, precious stepdad, father-in-law, granddad, brother and Army National Guard Veteran, joined his Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. He was born in Blacksburg, VA to the late Caley and Gracie Sarver Nolen. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Carroll Nolen; sisters, Ethel Nolen and Mary Bishop; brother, Gale Nolen.  
 
He is survived by stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jamie Wright, Lisa and Jeff Jones; sisters, Dorothena Doss, Margaret Simmons; brothers, Clarence Nolen, LeeRoy Nolen; grandchildren, Daniel Wright and wife Melia, Jacob Wright; great-grandchildren, Barrett and Lawson Wright; special friends, Gary and Debbie Poff, and Castle Rock Baptist Church family.  
 
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, January 18, 2019 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Poff officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., S.W. Blacksburg, VA.
