Alvin Wesley "Wes" Whitlow

Alvin Wesley “Wes” Whitlow, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born August 11, 1940 in Henry County to the late Posey Whitlow and Nannie Lera Shelton Whitlow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Vickie Ingram, Beatrice Bryant, and Dot Herndon; and brothers, Ebb Whitlow and Elmer Whitlow. He attended Henry County Public Schools, was of the Baptist faith, and had been employed as an automobile mechanic for over 60 years. He built carburetors and engines, and his work went as far as New York and California. He loved racing and watching all Westerns. Wes is survived by his wife, Lois Price Whitlow; daughters, Gayle Hill (Kyle) and Rhonda Whitlow; two grandchildren, Aaron and Kyndal Hill; sister, Dorothy Mae Davis; and nephew, Greg Herndon.
