Ammie Redd

Ammie Irene Redd, 83, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was born February 20, 1940, in Patrick County, to the late James Jefferson Reynolds and Sarah Hagwood Reynolds.Ammie was a member of the True Gospel Holiness Church in Martinsville. She loved SOAP’s, flowers and above all else her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She held the position of inspector at Bassett Walker for 10 years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Redd; daughter, Shirley Johnson; sons, Winford Reynolds, Thomas Redd; sisters, Christine Hairston, Geraldine Reynolds; brothers, James Lee Reynolds, Randolph Reynolds, and Howard Reynolds.She is survived by her daughter, Bonita (Darrell) Johnson; son, Roy Redd; brother, Roy Reynolds; six grandchildren; nine grandchildren.The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be a half hour prior to the service.Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
