Andy Lee Barker

Mr. Andy “Lee” Barker, age 66 of Lowgap, passed away on early Friday morning, November 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Barker was born on February 1, 1958, in Surry County to the late H.W. and Lucille Martin Barker. Andy was a loving companion, father, stepfather, step grandfather, step great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his loving companion of over forty years, Carolyn Davis; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Barker and wife Melinda; step daughter, Shelia Stewart and husband Anthony; three grandchildren and spouse, Destiny Mendoza and husband Logan, Desirae Barker, Dakota Barker; three step-grandchildren, Samantha Stewart, Chloe Stewart, Chase Stewart; four other step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Oakley Mendoza, Ana Grace Mendoza; several other step great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela Snow and husband Ralph, Margo Hamlin and husband Randall, Janet Barker; four brothers and a sister-in-law, Wayne Barker, Daniel Barker, Ruben Barker, Wesley Barker and wife Media Ann; his special friends, Jonathan and Angie Ashburn; several other friends; along with several nieces and nephews. IN addition to his parents, Mr. Barker was preceded in death by two sons, Jason Lee Barker, Jonathan Lee Barker; a stepson, Richard William Moore; and a sister, June Barker Grimes. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Reverend Doug Cockerham and Brother Ed Hall officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
