Anna "Ann" Katherine Dodson Campbell Obituary Anna (Ann) Katherine Dodson Campbell, 97 of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2024, with her daughters by her side. Ann was born on July 8, 1927, in Salem, daughter of the late Charles Morton and Dorethia Smith Dodson. She earned her living in the field of healthcare for many years as a Radiology Technician eventually retiring from the Salem VA Medical Center. During and following her retirement, Ann enjoyed gardening, cooking, ceramics, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She loved singing in the church choir and teaching Sunday School in her younger years and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in her later years.In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank W. Campbell; son-in-law, Douglas Hale; sisters, Jane Akers, Frances Carroll, and Macy Young; brother, Mortie Dodson; brothers-in-law, John Akers, Johnny Carroll, Wallace Dalton, Howard St.Clair, Bill Amos, and Ed Campbell; sisters-in-law, Kathleen St.Clair, Margaret Amos, Marie Campbell, Jean Campbell, and Etheleen Campbell.Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Peggy Campbell Hale, and Nancy Campbell Lewis, both of Salem, and sister, Betty Dalton of King, N.C.; brothers-in-law, C.L. Young, Jack Campbell, and Carl Beamer; sister-in-law, Louise Beamer, and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 1 until 2 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will begin directly after at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Tom Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Hospice for their loving care and support for Ann and her family during their time of need.
