Anna Harmon Gibson
Sadly, our beautiful, tiny, but feisty mother passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
She was born April 30, 1945, in Logan, WV to Woodrow Clarence Bills and Marie Alice Thompson, with her grandmother, Cornelia Francis Mannich, playing a very important role in her life. She graduated from National Business School with an Associate degree in Secretarial Studies in 1965. She went on to have various jobs including working for law firms, Nationwide Insurance, Roanoke College, and even having her own typing business later in her career. She loved playing the piano, working in her garden, planting flowers, and doing arts and crafts. She especially loved going to yard sales, antique stores, and the Goodwill store. She had always hoped to one day have a “junk” shop of her own. She was an excellent cook with a flair for old-fashioned southern-style food. Always a sharp lady, she could beat most people at a variety of games, including card games and Bingo. She always had cats in her life and she loved and spoiled every single one of them.
She is survived by her daughter Tanya Harmon Boadwine (Dan), son David Wayne Harmon (Tiffany), and son Scott Mannich Harmon (Mary). She was also known as Grandma Anna to her many grandchildren: Ashley, Kayla, Korey, Mia, Ryker, Morgan, and Christopher. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem VA on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
