Anne Elizabeth Morrison

August 30, 1952 - June 28, 2026

Anne Morrison, age 73 of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born on August 30, 1952 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada to Alice Anastasiia Anderson MacDonald and Alexander Joseph MacDonald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Mary MacDonald Allen (Allen). After graduating from Queen’s University and St. Lawrence College (Kingston, Ontario Canada), Anne spent over 30 years working as a Interior Designer for companies like Bassett Furniture and La-Z-Boy and taught design at the University of Houston. She was also a certified Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker in Houston, Texas.

Anne was best known for her humorous life stories and her extensive knowledge on just about anything, if she didn’t know the answer she was determined to find it. She enjoyed raising animals, gardening and growing vegetables. She also loved writing and dreamed of one day writing and illustrating children’s books.

Leaving behind to carry her legacy are her children, Erika Trapp and her husband Art Trapp, and her son, Michael Morrison, her daughter-in-law, Jane Hagarman; her grandchildren; Nicholas Trapp, Danielle Trapp and her fiance, Phillip Cates, and Piper Hagarman; and one grand one great granddaughter, Ivy Grace Cates-Trapp, two sisters, Sandra Anne Gauthier and Miriam Anita Poole; her beloved nieces and nephews, April, James, Suzanne, Christianne, Sarah, and Michael. She also leaves behind a host of numerous friends and family.
