Anne Marie Riegert Frazier

Anne Marie Riegert Frazier, 86, of Roanoke passed away Monday December 23, 2024. She was born in Riverside Township Bergen County New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Aloysius Riegert & Catherine Marie (Casby), her sister, Mary Margaret Schwartz, & her previous spouse, John Richard Frazier, MD. Left to cherish her memory are her five sons & their families: John Richard (Tampa, FL); Arthur & wife Patti (Detroit, MI), David & wife Leigh (Roanoke, VA); Robert & wife Kathy (St. Louis, MO); and Walter & wife Jessica (Roanoke, VA). She was proud of her nine grandchildren: Katie, Kelly, Lauren, Abby, Jack, Jenny, Ryan, Summer & Brooke. And her great-grandson Liam. 

Anne earned a Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Hollins University. She worked at Jefferson College of Health Sciences as an English Professor for 20 years before she retired. After retirement, she enjoyed serving as a volunteer greeter at the Roanoke Regional Airport. Golf was a lifelong love & she enjoyed playing bridge, going to the theatre, & many other activities with friends & family. 

Thank you to the staff at Woodland Hills memory care unit, Legacy Hospice, & special helper Joyce Brown. A memorial service will be held early in 2025. Burial will be on December 28th at St. Andrew’s Diocesan Cemetery 3601 Salem Turnpike NW Roanoke. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2-4 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Electric Road Chapel.
