Anne Reid

Mrs. Anne Burns Reid, age 85, of Covington, died Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Brian Center Nursing Care-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Harry (Sonny) Reid to whom she was married to for forty years and Carlos Botkins to whom she was married to for five months.
Mrs. Reid was born November 20, 1938 in Virginia. Anne was the daughter of the late Andrew G. (Bobby) Burns and Virginia Tingler Burns and the granddaughter of the late Dorothy W. and Andrew (Jack) Tingler and Dorthea Jean and Andrew G. Burns. She was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1955. Anne was employed by the Division Of Motor Vehicles for thirty-years and was the Alleghany County Branch Manager for the last twenty years of employment.
Mrs. Reid is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony (Shane) Reid and Michelle (Missy) Reid; granddaughters, Kristen Nicole Reid and Chloe Bennington Reid; a sisters, Dorothy B. Carpenter; a sister-in-law, Nancy Seay and husband, Bert; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reid was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Todd (Bobby) Leighton and James Thomas (Jimmy) Reid.
A private graveside will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of donations to Boys' Home, Inc, 306 Boys Home Road, Covington, VA 24426.
