Annie Dungee
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, our loved one Annie Marie Owens-Dungee quietly drifted away at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC. In her sleep, she took the Master’s Hand and began her journey to her Heavenly home. Annie Marie Owens was born October 19, 1945, to the late Edith Owens Tanner, Prince Edward County Virginia. She attended R.R. Morton High School and later received her diploma in 2024, due to the closing of R.R. Morton High School.
Annie accepted Christ at Forest Baptist Church, Meherrin, VA, and several years later moved membership to the Triumph Baptist Church, Cullen, VA. In September 1967, Annie was united in holy matrimony to her husband Edward V. Dungee from Cullen, VA. Edward preceded her in death in December 2017. Annie was a housewife who cared for many people in their homes. She was faithful and dedicated to serving in the church, on the Missionary Board, during her Missionary work in the community, and on many choirs/gospel groups such as the Mass Choir and Senior Choir, Odessa Pride Mass Choir, and Catherine Haskins Gospel Group.
Those left to cherish her precious memories: two daughters, Louise Dungee, and Evelyn Dungee Ward both of Greensboro, NC; two sons, James Owens (JoAnn) and Johnnie Dungee (Latonya) both of Prince Edward, VA; grandchildren (Granddaughters, Jasmine, Breyonnah, Destinee, Ka’Nya, Audrey and Erica); (Grandsons, Rocquan, Justice, Deven and Kanye) and ten great-grandchildren.
