Annie Jones Crane

Annie Jones Crane, 89, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024. She was born in Danville, VA on October 24, 1934 to the late Sallie Shields Jones and the late Jesse Leon Jones Sr. She was predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Phil G. Crane Jr.

Annie was of the Baptist faith and a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a Sales Associate for J.C. Penney Department Store, previous to her retirement. After her retirement, she worked at Old Dutch Supermarket.

Annie is survived by a daughter; Trish Hopkins (Mike) of Danville, Va; a son; Barry Crane (Martha) of Danville, VA; two brothers; Leon Jones (Patsy) and Jerry Jones (Linda); three grandchildren; Kim Pyron (Scott), Ben Thompson (Brandi) and Russell Crane; five great grandchildren; Jessica Pyron, Jordan Mell (Nick), Parker Thompson, Peyton Thompson, and Adalyn Thompson; and three great-great grandchildren; Brycen Pyron, Jayce Pyron, and Oaklyn Mell.

In addition to her parents and husband, Annie was predeceased by two sisters: Dorothy Reed and Imogene Stevens; and a brother; Gilmer Jones.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day from 1:00-2:00 pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of her Granddaughter, Kim Pyron, 5047 Jefferson Road, Danville, VA 24540.
