Antwon Legrande Davis

July 27, 1977 - February 19, 2025

LCpl Antwon Legrande Davis, 47, of Greenwood, South Carolina, transitioned from his earthly home Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born July 27, 1977, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Rev. Dr. Kenneth Davis and Cherie Neal Davis.

Antwon lived a full life, enjoying time well-spent with his family and friends. A disabled veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 2000-2007. He worked during this time as an administrative clerk within the Mobilization Command and was honorably discharged at MCAS, Cherry Point, North Carolina. Antwon’s dedication to the Marine Corps was evidenced by the many medals and awards he received during his time of service including the following: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (2nd Awd), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Global War of Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Iraq), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4th Awd), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Certificate of Appreciation, and Rifle Marksman Badge.

Along with his parents, he is survived by the love of his life and fiancé, Karen Branch; his stepmother, Kathy Whittle-Davis; sister, April S. Davis; brothers, Kenneth D. Davis, and Kendall D. Davis.

There will be a Celebration of Life service Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Mount Olive East Christian Church (DOC) at 3611 Spencer-Preston Road, Martinsville, Virginia. A visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.
