Arlen Calvin Hampton

Arlen Calvin Hampton, 88, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. He was born February 8, 1936, in Henry County to the late Whitt Davis Hampton and Eva Mae Rakes Hampton.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Wayne Hampton; brother, Dewey Wayne Hampton; and grandson, Logan Wayne Sessoms.Arlen attended Mayo Baptist Church. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting and playing and coaching baseball.He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Patricia Marie Lakey Hampton; daughter, Susan Sessoms (James); sons, Bart Hampton (Susan), Scott Hampton (Tammy); grandchildren, Brittany Wingate (Dustin), Taylor Hampton, Jessica Cumbo (Jay), Lexis Hampton; great-grandchildren, Dallas Kate Wingate, Layne Riley Cumbo; and numerous extended family members.A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Ricky Bates officiating.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 240 Commonwealth Blvd. W Unit 602B, Martinsville, VA 24112.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
