Arvil Walt Carpenter

Arvil Walt Carpenter, 77, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Tender Years Adult Care. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late Windsor Carpenter and Sarah Thompson Carpenter Blair. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Gwyn, and Shannon.

Mr. Carpenter served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and received a 'Bronze Star'. He was of the episcopal faith. He was a CPA with Elliott & Davis, Sara Lee, Sherrell Tree and he last worked at Carlisle School. Arvil was an avid horseman, who would ride and show Tennessee walking horses. He also loved the beach and would spend a lot of time there.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Jamison Carpenter, and his daughter, Becca Carpenter, sisters; Cheryl Lavinder (Ron) and Robin Smith (Perry).

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplain Daniel Collins officiating at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel.
