Aubree Renae Harris

Aubree Harris, 8, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023. She was born March 25, 2015, in Danville, to Samuel Harris and Aaleigha Averette. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Alvin Averette (Jr.); step grandfather, Michael Jones; great grandfather, Alvin Averette Sr.; grandmother, Joyce Harris; and aunt, Jalisa Harris.

Aubree was a creative person who loved to paint and she found a great fascination in unicorns. She was a gymnast and loved to listen to music in her free time. She looked forward to attending church and worshiping. She was a very loved individual and in her two-and-a-half-year fight with cancer, she found brightness and happiness every day.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandmother, Kim Jones; grandfather, Samuel Harris; great grandmothers, Judy Arnold, Gloria Averette, Margie McKenzie and Rosetta Harris; great grandfather, Timothy McKenzie; brother, Keyaan Smith; uncles, Kalob Jones and Austin Jones; aunt, Kendall Jones; and cousins, Kalynn Jones and Jaxon Jones.

The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Matthew K. Wilson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
