Austin Lane Mabry

Austin Lane Mabry, 30, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023. He was born January 23, 1993, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Sheldon Lane Mabry and Venessa Dale Boardwine Jones.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Junior C “J.C.” Mabry and Regena Mabry; maternal grandfather, Mackie Dale Boardwine; and Aunt Tonya Gail Boardwine.

Austin was of the Christian Faith. He was a 2011 graduate of Bassett High School where he played baseball and football. He loved fishing, cooking, especially chicken, and hunting. He was a North Carolina Tar Heels fan and an Indianapolis Colts fan. He was a PlayStation fanatic, loved listening to music, spending time at the beach with his family, and loved traveling especially to Tennessee. He also loved spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmom, Cynthia Mabry; sister, Brittany Mabry; brother, Zachary Mabry (Hayleigh); stepsisters, Christen Brickey (Alex) and Amanda Bowman; stepbrother, Landon Jones; aunt, Ramona Adams (Shaun); uncles, Shannon Mabry (Hilda) and Shane Mabry; niece Aligha Smith; cousins, Taylor Mabry Prillaman and Ashley Adams; maternal grandmother, Connie Jean Boardwine; and special friend Amanda Scott.

A Visitation will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 29, 2023. The memorial service will follow at 4:30 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Les Croft officiating.
