Jane Bradley Wood Glass

Jane Bradley Wood Glass, 85, passed away April 24, 2022, in Lynchburg, Va. She was born in Campbell County, April 24, 1937, to the late William Hocker Wood and Mary Lee McNair Wood. She was the wife of the late Hubert Brightwell Glass, Jr. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Wood Glass and Laura Jane Glass Barringer; one brother, William McNair Wood; and three sisters, Mary Lee Wood Copeland, Roberta Wood Brown, and Laura Gassaway Wood Simmons.
Mrs. Glass is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Glass Burnette (Scott) of South Hill, and Susan Glass Revis (Mike) of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Scott Barringer, Jennifer Barringer, Glenn Revis, Laura Revis, Kayla Revis, and Lauren Burnette; three great-grandchildren, Zane Doss, Navy Miller, and Natalie Revis; and two sisters, Elizabeth Anne Wood Burleigh, and Rachel McFarland Wood Frees.
She lived on a farm in Campbell County, where she worked primarily as a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She loved working outside in her vegetable and flower gardens and going fishing at her pond. She was a lifetime member of the New Concord Presbyterian Church, where she served as a previous deacon, elder, and choir member. She always enjoyed her church and community friendships, as well as activities in the Concord Senior Citizens group. Mrs. Glass was a strong, hardworking, independent woman, who placed the welfare of her family and others before herself. She made a positive difference in the lives of many that she has touched, and her inner strength displayed over countless hardships has inspired others.
The family would like to express their thanks for the care given by Seven Hills Hospice and staff at Runk and Pratt Pearls of Life in Lynchburg.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday, April 30, 2022, with Rev. Janice Fraser officiating at New Concord Presbyterian Church, burial will follow at the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation at the church prior to the service.
