Dr. David Stafford Miller, II
DR. DAVID STAFFORD MILLER, II, 85, of Bland, VA, passed away on April 30, 2022 at Sunrise at Bon Air in Richmond, VA. He was born January 8, 1937 in Bluefield, WV, the son of David Stafford & Clara Watson Miller.
He was a graduate of Bland High School, Bluefield College and the University of Richmond. In 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Elizabeth Bird. He graduated from Medical College of Virginia with a medical degree. He practiced internal medicine and cardiology at Lewis Gale Hospital in Roanoke, VA. When he retired, he returned to Bland County to raise Angus cattle on the family farm. He was devoted to his land and his loving wife, Janet, of sixty-four years. David was widowed in 2020.
He is survived by his three children, Sara Clark (Scott), of Richmond, VA, David Miller, III (Lea), of Bland, VA, and Tim Miller (Michelle), of Midlothian, VA; and his grandchildren, Matthew Miller and Kathryn Miller.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. at Shiloh Cemetery, with Pastor Orville DeHart officiating. A reception will follow at the family homeplace, The Oaks.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in David’s honor to an organization of your choice.
