Ruth Maxine Ridgeway, 75, of Bassett, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount, VA. She was born in Shellsburg, PA. on September 19, 1946, to the late Carl C. Smith and the late Alta Dermer Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Ridgeway, brothers, Calvin Rogers, Kenny Rogers, and Ron Rogers and her special fur baby D.G.
Ruth is survived by her son, James Ridgeway (Annette); sister, Leeanna Kenney, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was well known for her “Pickles and Pillows” at the Bassett Train Station, Octoberfest, Fairystone State Park Farmers Market and Bassett Heritage Festival.
