Trula Short

Trula Short, 84, of Bassett passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at her home.  She was born on March 15, 1938 in Richlands, Virginia to the late William Harvey Boyd and to the late Pearl Prince Lowe Boyd.  Trula was also preceded in death by her husband, Massie M. Short; baby boy, grandson, Christopher Piorkowski; brothers, Otis Boyd, Earl Ball and Charlie Ball.
Trula attended Church of God of Prophecy.
Trula is survived by a son, Raymond Short; daughters, Rhonda Garland (Robert) and Robin Goard (Larry); grandchildren, Kevin Short, Tyfany Hall, William Greathouse, Raymond Dawson and Joseph Singleton; numerous great grandchildren, brother, Harold Boyd and sisters, Gracie Keen, Goldie Davis and Nell Davis.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 12:00 pm in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Dwayne Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Boyd-Keen Cemetery.
