Larry Willard Martin

Larry Willard Martin, 91, of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born May 12, 1931 in Axton, to the late Hush Dillard Martin and Nannie Morrison Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Martin Graham; sister, Yvonne; and brother, James D. Martin.

He had been employed by Hooker Furniture for 26 years. He enjoyed sitting on his porch, working outside, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Martin is survived by his sons, Larry Martin, Jr. (Angela), Joseph D. Martin, and Ronnie L. Martin (Myesha); sisters, Essie Mitchell, Rebecca Huffman, Idella Huffman, Minnie Jefferson (Onnie), Celia Martin (Jessie Herman), and Fleater Martin; step-children, Cookie Dalton (James) and Jennie Spencer (Daniel); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

The funeral will be Friday, May 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Marvin Slade officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
