Jeffrey Dean Huddleston
Jeffrey Dean Huddleston, 59, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, after a courageous and valiant 11-year battle with a brain tumor. Born on August 16, 1962, in Roanoke, Virginia, he is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Huddleston, as well as a brother, Eddie Roden.
Jeffrey never met a stranger; his zany and outgoing personality, coupled with his witty sense of humor, brought him many friendships along the way. Always an outdoorsman, Jeff enjoyed caring for lawns and landscaping as a dedicated employee of Greenup Lawns and Landscaping. When not at work, he could be found on the water with a fishing pole in hand or relaxing by a crackling campfire while camping with family and friends. He fought hard and strong against his cancer diagnosis; his spirit and strength were an inspiration to many. Above all, he loved his family and many friends and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Karen Harrison Huddleston; children, Tyler Freeman, Brad Huddleston, Stephanie (Miles) Christian, and Cory Huddleston; several grandchildren; mother, Judy Huddleston; brother, Greg Huddleston, and many friends.
The family will welcome friends on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Jeffery’s memory to a charity of your choice.
As Jeff would say, “Bye for now…”
