Edsel "Buck" Thedore Bowlin

Edsel "Buck" Thedore Bowlin, 86, of Bassett, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Sovah Health- Martinsville. He will be sadly missed by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. He was born on July 6, 1936, in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late Elijah and Minnie E. Holt Bowlin.

Mr. Bowlin retired from Bassett Furniture and was a long-time member of Stanleytown's Amazing Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR racing as well as planting and raising vegetable gardens. Most of all, he loved spending time with and vacationing with his family.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Minnie Bowlin, of 65 years, his loving daughter Stephanie Kitzmiller and her husband Rickey, and his granddaughter, whom he adored, Allison Kitzmiller. Also, he is survived by his "grand cat" Charming. He is also survived by one sister, Jewel Bowlin Edwards.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowlin was preceded in death by three brothers Leslie "Les" Bowlin, James Bowlin, and Ervin Bowlin; and four sisters Rachel B. Harris, Rebecca B. Noonkester, Avis B. Marion, and Clara B. Johnson.

The floating visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 12:30 in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm. with Dr. Greg Hodges and Pastor David Fullerton officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

Due to the flu season, masks are strongly encouraged.
