Roger Lee Brickey

Roger Lee Brickey, age 76 years of Troutville, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his home following a year-long illness.

Roger was born in Roanoke November 6, 1945 and lived in Botetourt most of his life. He was the son of the late Robert E. and Louise I. Arthur Brickey.

Roger served in The United States Army in Vietnam. Following his service in the army, he was a corrections officer at Camp 25 in Botetourt. Roger enjoyed antique cars, racing, NASCAR, hunting, and Harley Davidson motor cycles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda B. Foley. Roger is survived by his daughter, Hope L. (William) Brickey; grandchildren: Stephini L. Underwood, Stephen E. Underwood II, and Joshuah L. Underwood; great-grandchildren: Jocelin Underwood, Mariah Downs, Dakoda Downs, Vivian Underwood, Stephen E. Underwood III, Lewis Isla Underwood, and Ariala Underwood; brother, Richard “Bobby” Brickey; and sisters: Alice Bryant, Judy Bryant, and Nancy Jenkins.

A celebration of his Roger’s life will be High Noon, Tuesday August 9 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville. Burial with full military honors will be at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, 6-8pm.
