Shannon Stacey Dixon

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022 , Shannon Stacey Dixon, 45, of Devonshire Drive, Ridgeway, Virginia transition to be with her Lord and Savior at Due Hospital, Durham, NC. Born in Virginia on March 19. 1977, she was the daughter of John Adams, Sr. and Lila Hairston Adams. Shannon was a faithful member of the Galilean House of Worship, where she served as Usher, member of the mass choir, deaconess, and wherever she was asked to serve. She was a dedicated employee of Martinsville/Henry County Social Services for 17 years as a Benefit Specialist IV. She was a graduate of Magna Vista High School and Averett College with a 4-year degree in Business Administration. She was a loving, shy, quiet, and kindhearted person with a beautiful smile. She had a love for all kinds of music and loved to dance. Watching movies with her husband was a pastime of hers. She loved to shop for bargains when she was able to go out.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Duane Dixon. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George Adams and Lucinda Adams; maternal grandparents, Willie M. Hairston and Mary Bernice Hairston; brother, John Adams, Jr.
The funeral will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 11:30 AM with visitation thirty minutes prior to the service at Wright Funeral Service with Bishop Michael Penn, officiating. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
