Carey Morgan Johnson, III

Carey Morgan Johnson III age 74 of Boones Mill passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was a retired Electrical Engineer in the Power Motive Department at Norfolk Southern with over 40 years of service and he was a faithful and dedicated member of Boones Mill Church of the Brethren.
He was born on February 26, 1948 a son of the late Carey Morgan, Jr. and Charlotte Gray Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Eric Johnson.
Carey is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Fisher Johnson; his grandsons, Ashton Johnson, Caleb Johnson (Marlie Delby). And Brandin Johnson (Ada); great-grandchildren, Caiden, Myla, Camden, and Liana Johnson;, brothers and sister, Ellsworth Reed Johnson (Kay), Pamela Roberts (Pete), and Patrick Moore Johnson (Jennifer); daughter-in-law, Tammy Johnson; his mother-in-law whom he called mom, Stella Dillon Fisher. He is also survived by other relatives, his church family, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Naff officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
