Gerald Andrew Menefee

Gerald Andrew Menefee, 65, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born August 19, 1957 to the late John Andrew Penn and Myrtle Florence Smith Menefee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joanne English, Waycell Prunty, and Mary Williams; one brother, John Menefee; and one grandchild, Zahari Glenn.

He was an automobile mechanic for over 20 years, and enjoyed watching football and spending time with family.

Gerald is survived by his daughters, Jessica Menefee and Teressa Menefee; son, Juakee Menefee (Brandy); brothers, Joseph Menefee (Sylvia), Thomas Menefee, and James Menefee; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
