Hallie Janalice Godsey Roope of Concord, Virginia

Hallie Janalice Godsey Roope, 90, of Concord passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Liberty Ridge. She was the wife of the late William Dean Roope for 65 years.

Born on February 24, 1933, in Lynchburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard Godsey and Mary Bailey Godsey. She is survived by three children, David Roope and wife, Susan of Spout Spring, Sherry Paulk and husband, Lewis of Texas, and Troy Roope and wife, Shannon of Concord; six grandchildren, Ethan Cheatwood, Lilly Cheatwood, Chris Paulk and wife, Tricia, Brandon Paulk and wife, Chrysanthemum, Brittany McOlin and husband, Eli, and William Roope; four great-grandchildren, Esther, Gideon, Isaiah, and Ruth McOlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Wight, Catherine Cashmore, Marjorie Campbell, and Edith Trent; and four brothers, Harold, Herschel, James, and Bill Godsey.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm, Monday, January 22, 2024, in Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Falwell officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 5-7 pm at Robinson Funeral Home.
