Kathleen Wooldridge

September 27, 1921 - January 25, 2024

Kathleen Evans Wooldridge, 102, of Appomattox, died Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was the wife of the late Larry Frederick “Fred” Wooldridge.
Born in Appomattox County, September 27, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Clarence McClellan Evans and Sallie Ranson Evans. Kathleen was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Granny Kat desired to make the world better by baking a loaf of bread, a pan of biscuits, a chocolate or a pecan pie to give away as a token of Christian love.
She is survived by her two children, Cecil G. Wooldridge and wife, Linda and Peggy Terry both of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Nancy Ferguson and husband, Charles, Gayle Moore and husband, Phillip and Cynthia Spiggle and husband, Paul; five great-grandchildren, Caleb Moore, Gabriel Moore, Wade Spiggle, Olivia Spiggle and Guss Spiggle; extended family, Bill Terry and wife, Donna, Bonnie St. John, Sherry Fields and husband, Haven and Linda Johnson and husband, Tommy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nannie Mae Davidson and Frances Chamberlain, and a son-in-law, Edmond “Butch” Terry.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Caldwell and Pastor Todd Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Evergreen Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
