Frances McCormick

Frances Viar McCormick, 91, of Gladstone, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024. She was the wife of the late Guy Samuel McCormick, Sr.
Born in Charlottesville, June 21, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Easter Lee Stephens and Everette Wilson Viar. Frances loved to color, chew tobacco and drink her wine. Frances was there for everyone through the years and loved her family. She was a Queen.
She is survived by four children, Mamie Henson and husband, Lee, Larry Wash McCormick and wife, Margie, Rebecca Jones and husband, Riley all of Gladstone and Patricia Tyree of Appomattox; 13 grandchildren, James McCormick, Loretta Bass, Erica Garrett, Melissa Blanchard, Bo Jones, Katie Jones, Sammy Jones, Stephanie Hanson, Kerston McCormick, Pick McCormick, Kim Graybill and Lee McCormick; two brothers, Roger Lee Viar and Vester Lee Viar; four sisters, Anna May Bryant, Eilene Johnson, Charlene Campbell and Jenny Harvey; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Guy “Buckshot” McCormick, Jr., one granddaughter, Melissa Ellis; three brothers, Dickie, Benny and Brother Viar; and one sister, Lucille Tyree.
