Franklin Woodrow "Frank" Casper, Sr.

June 5, 1936 - April 15, 2024

The Reverand Franklin Woodrow “Frank” Casper, Sr., 87, left peacefully to be with the Lord, on Monday, April 15, 2024. He was the husband of the late Hilda Mae Casper.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on June 5, 1936, he was a son of the late Mary Dunlow Casper and George Washington Casper. Frank was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he pastored for 35 years. Frank was a master electrician. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Counseling from Chowan College and Mississippi College. He then received his master’s degree of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Frank was the former president of the Appomattox Baptist Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting turkeys and playing tennis in his younger years.
He is survived by three children, Frank W. Casper, Jr., Dave Casper, and Emily Casper-Brown; four grandchildren, Wayne, Truitt, Cole, and Ella; two great-grandchildren, Crosby and Phoebe; a sister-in-law, Libby Pearsall and her husband, Dave; and numerous and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Harris and Deacon Doug Perrow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and following the burial in the fellowship hall.
