Wanda Darlene Deacon Williams

April 13, 1953 - May 28, 2024

Wanda Darlene (Deacon) Williams passed away suddenly and peacefully on May 28, 2024. She was the beautiful wife of Gene Williams and loving mother of Dustin Williams.
Wanda was born on April 13, 1953, in Lynchburg, Virginia to Lawrence Joseph and Grace Corinne (Ford) Deacon. Affectionately known as “Mamma Wanda,” she maintained her kindness, generosity, grace, compassion, love of all her animals, and dedication to her family and friends until the end. She has left a void her family, extended family, and chosen family will struggle to fill.
Wanda was a staple of Wolfbane Productions and opened her home and heart to many members of the local arts community. She was a second mother to many of the people Dustin brought into her life. There was always a hot meal and kind word waiting “just up the stairs.”
Wanda was brilliant with numbers and began her career working at the Archer Creek Foundry before becoming the Chief Financial Officer of Williams Body Shop. She was famous for her sausage casserole and peach cobbler. Wanda loved all animals but had a special love and passion for horses. She was a positive, magnetic force and greeted everyone she met with a smile and great story.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Joseph and Grace Corinne (Ford) Deacon, her beloved sister Nelda Deacon, her brothers Dennis and Walter Deacon, sister-in-law Eleanor Deacon, brother-in-law Robert Fields, niece Lisa Williams, and nephew Troy Deacon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Gene Williams, her cherished son Dustin Williams, her favorite (and only) son-in law Ken Arpino, her big-brother Frank Deacon, brother-in-law Harry Williams and wife, Vanessa Williams, and sister-in-law, Delores Dojaquez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, May 31, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Dr. Jarrett G. Banks. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery at 1pm.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
