Frank Lee Thomas

Frank Lee Thomas, 79, of Appomattox died July 9, 2024. Frank was a businessman, talented artist and husband of Patsy Seay Thomas for 55 years.
Born March 6, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruth Thomas.
Frank graduated from Appomattox High School, Class of 1963, and was senior class president. He and Patsy hosted several class reunions over the following years. Frank attended Richmond Professional Institute and worked at Lynchburg Engraving Company before starting his own graphic arts and advertising business, Frank L. Thomas & Associates, which he ran for over 40 years. He also helped Patsy in her catering business for many years and was known for his grilled beef tenderloin.
As an artist, Frank enjoyed painting landscapes and well-known sites in Appomattox, including the McLean House, Liberty Baptist Church and the former Appomattox High School. His paintings and prints are displayed at various locations in the surrounding area.
Frank enjoyed time with family and friends, fine dining, University of Virginia sports, history, playing golf and the long weekends he and Patsy spent at Virginia Beach.
Frank was a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Besides Patsy, he is survived by a brother and his wife, Mark and Molly Thomas of Chatham; a brother-in-law, Phillip Seay of Charlottesville; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be announced later.
