Tommy Ray Gobble

October 10, 1948 - June 27, 2025

Tommy Ray Gobble, of Appomattox, VA, a Vietnam Veteran, passed away peacefully at the age of 76, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Born in Farmville, VA, on October 10, 1948, he was the son of Virginia Rose Layne Inge and the late Holly Ernest Gobble. Tommy was a retired heavy equipment operator for Appomattox and Prince Edward counties for more than 40 years. He was a dedicated member of the Pamplin Volunteer Fire Department for more than 50 years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his best friend and mother of his children, Peggy Gobble; two sons, Tommy R. Baldwin and wife, Terry, and Shawn D. Gobble and wife, Karen; four grandchildren, Brea Baldwin, Shane Baldwin, Megan Gobble and Brody Gobble; one brother, Gene Gobble and wife, Kathy; and two sisters, Virginia Rose Farlow and husband, Mike, and Rita Faye Bucknam.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, James T. Gobble.
A funeral will be held at 11 am, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Todd Estes. Burial will follow in Walker’s Evangelical Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard, at 134 Hollywood Rd, Pamplin, VA 23958.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
