Mary Ann Shoefield Wooten

Mary Ann Schoefield Wooten, 90, of Fieldale, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born October 8, 1931, in Ridgeway, Virginia to the late Edward Schoefield and Minnie Perkins Schoefield. She was a member of Shiloh Way of The Cross Church where she was an usher, missionary and sung in the adult choir. She loved to cook for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wooten, Jr.; sons, Noel Wooten and Lazarus Wooten; sisters, Dorothy Schoefield, Helen Schoefield, Susan Nelson, Doretha Rosemond and Katie Wooten; and brothers, Henry Schoefield, Edward Schoefield and Willie Schoefield.

She is survived by daughters, Deborah Wooten Burgess, Teresa Wooten Wilson and Lillie Harris (Al); sons, Phillip Wooten (Deloris) and Micah Wooten (Treela); sisters, Ada Moorman and Thelma Marsh; brothers Isaiah Schoefield and Samuel Schoefield; grandchildren, Desiree Burgess, Quintessa Wooten, Keisha Wooten, Kimberly Wooten, Khadijah Wilson and Kenneth Wilson, Jr. and great-grandchildren, Olivia Akers and Makari Wilson.

A funeral will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 11:30 A. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with Bishop Earley Dillard officiating. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
