Christine Meador Trent

Christine Meador Trent, 86 of Bedford, passed away to her heavenly home Wednesday, August 26, 2020. She was born on Thursday, October 26, 1933 in Moneta, a daughter of the late George Minter Meador and Evelyn Blanche St. Clair Meador. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Trent, her son, Ricky Dale Trent and her brothers, Marvin and Melvin Meador.

She was known as "Mama Tine" to the many children she cared for in her home since 1964 and was a member of Quaker Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Lineberry (Trevor), Teressa Wood (Troy Payne), Lisa Manspile (Ralph); her grandsons, Jared Lineberry (Krystle Forlines-Lineberry), Jordan Lineberry (Erica Lugar), Hunter Manspile (Lauren), Dallas Manspile (Ashley Moore); her granddaughters, Tiffany Wood, Cheyenne Wood; her great-grandchildren, Kaylin Grahame, Bryson Lineberry, Nolan Lineberry, Kendrix Forlines-Lineberry, Arbor Forlines-Lineberry, Cole Lineberry, Reagan Manspile, Dax Manspile, Jaeden Myers, Jaxon Manspile, Lailah Manspile; two brothers, Carroll D. Meador, Johnny Meador and a sister, Nora Anderson.

The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the Moneta Fire Department, P. O. Box 455, Moneta, VA 24121 or Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4665 Chestnut Fork Road, Bedford, VA 24523.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. David Timma & Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
