Lorena St. John Parsons

Lorena St. John Parsons, 88, of Oakville Road, Appomattox, died September 1, 2020, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was married to Edward Eugene “Gene” Parsons for 67 years until his death, January 6, 2018.

Born in Charlotte County, Va., on June 11, 1932, she was the daughter of the Martin Terry St. John and Eva Lloyd St. John. Lorena was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and retired from Courtland Manufacturing.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: son, Roland Parsons and wife, Betty of Holly Springs, N. C. and their children, Tonya Parsons of Cary, N.C.; a son, Reid Parsons and wife, Carol; their children, Stacy Parsons Hackett and husband, Brent and their children, Laurynn and Brenley all of Appomattox and Damon Parsons and wife, Aimee and their child, Arlo of Lynchburg; daughter-in-law, Debbie Brown Parsons, of Randolph, their children, Chase Parsons of Charlotte Court House, Jesse Parsons Perrone and husband, Dana and their child, Regina of Montpelier; and daughter, Rhenda Parsons of Appomattox; her children, Rebecca Ranson and husband, Joey of Appomattox and Aaron Hamlett of Appomattox. She is also survived by brothers, Mack (Mary) St. John of Charlotte Court House, William “Bill” St. John of Meherrin, Carroll (Cora) St. John of Madisonville; a sister, Earl St. John Waller of Brookneal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; son, Randall O. Parsons; a brother, Rayford St. John; and a sister, Verna St. John Waller.

A graveside funeral service officiated by Dr. Rusty Small will be held at 11 a.m. September 5, 2020, at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, 3225 Germantown Road, Charlotte Court House.

The body will be available for viewing on Friday, September 4, from 9 am until 5 pm at Robinson Funeral Home.
