Meryl Jean Deel Kelly

Meryl Jean Deel Kelly, 68, of the Sandy Ridge section of Cleveland, Virginia, passed away peacefully following a brief illness at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on September 14, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. She was born at home in Buchanan County, Virginia, on April 17, 1952 to her late parents, Fannie O’Quinn Deel and Levi Deel.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Roy Kelly, her daughter, Sandy Kelly Large, her son-in-law, Jack Large, her grandsons Zach (Peyton) Large, and Seth Large as well as her loving sisters, Charlene Deel, Maxine (Nelson) Kelly, Geraldine Charles, and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Meryl loved being with her family especially spending time with her grandsons. She enjoyed cooking, the outdoors, animals, and going to the beach. She was kind, selfless, and loving. She will be greatly missed.
