Doris Hudson Burgess

Doris Hudson Burgess age 89 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a blessing to her family and a much loved mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reggie Oliver and Tressie Bennett Hudson. Surviving are her three children, Barry (Michelle) Burgess, Melanie Pagans and Randy Burgess; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer (Nathan) Osburn, Christa (Frank) Tarr, Valerie (Joe) Brown, Pam (Jeff) Perzan and Jessica (Denis) Leroux; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Menefee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 with Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
