Lucy Stokes

Lucy Mae Stokes, 65, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born November 2, 1955, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Norman and Pearlie Townes Martin. She was employed by Sheetz as a cashier. She attended various churches in the community and loved gardening, cooking, going out to eat and riding around.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Junior Martin.

Ms. Stokes is survived by her sons, Demond Stokes and Norman Stokes; sisters, Gloria Martin, Barbara Martin, Rosetta Cook and Susan Sexton; brother, Robert Wilson; and two grandchildren; Nehemiah Stone and Traiquan Hairston.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
