Houston Cornell Saunders

Houston Cornell Saunders, 69, of Bassett, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 in the Blue Ridge Rehab Center.  He was born in Martinsville on November 12, 1951 to Susie Wade Saunders and the late Eugene Moses Saunders.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Saunders, Bernard Saunders and James Saunders.
In addition to his mother, Houston is survived by his brothers, Bobby Saunders and Jeff Saunders; sisters, Sharon Morton (Terry), Muriell Spencer (Johnnie), Kimberly Turner (Otis) and Angela Zigler; sisters-in-law, Barbara Saunders and Angelica Saunders; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A floating visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, the family will not be present. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Wade Family Cemetery on Rock Hill Community Road in Bassett.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
