Alton W. Easley

Alton W. Easley, 75, of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was born in Bassett on September 26, 1945 to the late John Wesley Easley and the late Lessie Cornelia Hagwood Easley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers; a sister; 2 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Alton was a member of Fellowship Church of our Lord Jesus Christ and worked for Bassett Superior Lines for many years.

Alton is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Irma Louise Easley; son, Michael Barner of Wytheville; daughters, Iris Williams, Melissa Waller, Marcella Ross (Juan) and Edwina Barner (Laymond) all of Martinsville; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Refuse Temple Ministries in Martinsville where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Terry Hairston officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.

Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
